Making Money With Forex Investing

Forex (foreign currency exchange) investing is growing in popularity. Laws were passed recently that make the market available to small investors as well as the banks and large investment firms that have made money trading on the forex market for many years. Forex investing is one of the highest risk forms of investment, but the returns are proportionately higher as well.

There are many opportunities to make money with forex investing. The keys are having access to information that is current on how different currencies are trading at any given time and being willing to act on that information in a timely manner. Inexperienced traders will probably find it well worth their money to work closely with a forex advisor who is experienced and has a proven track record trading on the market already.

Unlike stocks, investing in foreign currency is not assured growth if the investment is left in over the long haul. Forex investing is normally done on a day trading basis, meaning that a person invests in a foreign currency early in the day and makes several trades as the day progresses. At the end of the day, if the person has acted on good information at the right times, he/she has more money than he/she started with. If not, the person may be broke.

There are several websites that offer resources, information, training, and even practice accounts that let you follow real time information from the forex market and make trades to see how you can do at it without actually risking any of your own money. Advisors will work with you and teach you the strategies that have proven successful for them for a fee.

Making money with forex investing is not easy, but it can be very rewarding if one is willing to actually work at it. The risks are high, and a person can and will sometimes lose money, but the rewards can more than make up for it

Forex Book Selection Tips

Before you start fx trading it is always better to learn the basic from forex books. It is suggested that you either join mentor program like Pip Mavens Inner Circle or read a good book to learn the basics before begin trading manually or through software like Ivybot. There are a few printed books that have more or less turn out to be classics in the 3 decades that forex trading has been  a recognized form of speculative investment. Still, a lot of of these may perhaps seem obsolete now that we have online foreign exchange trading that everybody can carry out from house. Something that was written during the days when foreign exchange trading was all undertaken by the major banks might still be useful, but it takes some work for the small home based forex trader to use it to our modern condition.

These days the forex trading books are available in digital format. At times these are standard printed books that the writer has converted into an online format, and at times they are ebooks only. Example, the famous Forex Trading Made Ez book is available only in pdf format. You can normally download these immediately onto your PC the instant that you get them with no waiting for delivery or paying any delivery charge. The ebooks can be read on computer monitor or you can print them and read.. This is actully very convenient.

How to select a good fx trading book?
In fact you don’t have to worry too much since it is uncommon for a book or an even an ebook to be a entire rip-off. As a rule you will get what you paid for. Whether you like what you are sent is a different issue, just as with anything that you receive from mail order or online. In nearly all cases you can get a refund anyway so it must not be a problem.

There definitely are fx trading scams but they mostly consist of folks trying to get a hold of your investment money. So do not hurry into placing your funds with the first forex broker or firm that you see. Make sure they are honest through currency trading forums and reviews for customer feedback, and be sure that they are controlled by authorities in whichever nation they are based in. It is usually best to put your funds through a corporation in your own nation or one that has adequate laws preventing fake and scams.

Even though your foreign exchange trading book may be a complete fraud, there are still some books that are much more useful than others. One method is to verify if the author is an qualified trader.

Many scam artists will try to hide the truth that there is always risk involved in fx trading. Search for opinion from other folks like you who are putting the system into practice and check out their outcome if you can. All of this will help you pick  the best fx trading book to suit your requirements from the numerous books that are obtainable.

How To Buy Good Stocks

Although it may seem obvious to most stock market swing traders there are a number of simple rules that you can follow which will ensure that you have more success when buying stocks:

In the USA stock market there are 3 major indexes which are each made up of a basket of stocks, they are the S and P 500 (also known as the S&P500), the DOW 30 and the Nadaq 100. These indexes generally only contain major blue chip  stocks, as long as you buy from these 3 groups you will at least know that you are getting a well known solid stock.

For example the DOW30 contains major industrials and large multinational stocks such as Home Depot (HD) and Johnson and Johnson (JNJ) whereas the Nasdaq 100 mainly contains techical companies such as Apple (AAPL) and Miscrosoft (MSFT).

Always buy a stock that is liquid, this means that it is a highly traded stock, this will enable you to quickly buy and sell at the price you want without having a delay. You will also get a lower spread, thats the difference between the BID and ASK price of the stock. For a stock to be considered highly liquid it should trade at least 500,000 shares per day, ideally even more.

It is best to avoid stocks that are bellow $10 as this usually means the company is in trouble, although with the bear market of 2008 there have been a lot of good stocks at bargin prices between $5 and $10. Avoid buying a stock that is below $5 at anytime.

Another consideration to make is options, does the stock has options?, this will be important if you want to trade options around your stock, such as a covered call, or you may want to buy a PUT option inorder to protect your stock.

Be very cautious about buying a stock just before it’s earnings release, stocks often drop significantly if you come out with a poor report. Earnings are released 4 times a year with one of them being the annual report.

If you are going to trade options make sure that you learn how to trade by getting some good education. There are many swing trading strategies that work well with stocks in todays volatile markets.

Understanding Investment Bonds

Bonds are one of the main stream types of investment along with stocks and real estate, and if you want to learn how to trade bonds make sure that you get a good education in the subject 1st. There are a number of important points that you must understand about bonds before you start investing in them. Not understanding these things may cause you to purchase the wrong bonds, at the wrong maturity date.

Like all investments it is important to learn about what you are investing in, and certainly don’t just take the advice given to you by a bond seller without checking it out first yourself. The three most important points that must be considered when purchasing a bond include the par value, the maturity date, and the coupon rate.

The par value of a bond refers to the amount of cash you will receive when the bond reaches its maturity date. In other words, you will receive your initial investment back when the bond reaches maturity.

The maturity date is the date that the bond will reach its full value. On this date, you will receive your initial investment, plus the interest that your money has earned.

Corporate and State and Local Government bonds can be “called” before they reach their maturity, at which time the corporation or issuing Government will return your initial investment, along with the cash that it has earned thus far. Federal bonds cannot be “called”.

The coupon rate is the interest rate that you will receive when the bond reaches maturity. This number is written as a %, and you must use other information to find out what the interest will be. A bond that has a par value of say $2000, with a coupon rate of 5% would earn $100 per year until it reaches maturity.

Because bonds are not issued by banks, many people don’t understand how to go about buying one. There are two ways this can be done.

You can use a broker or brokerage firm to buy them for you or you can go directly to the Government. If you use a brokerage, you will more than likely be charged a commission fee. If you want to use a broker, shop around for the lowest commissions!

Purchasing directly through the Government is not nearly as hard as it once was. There is a program called Treasury Direct which will allow you to buy bonds and all of your bonds will be held in one account, that you will have easy access to. This will allow you to avoid using a broker or brokerage firm.

More advanced traders may try to buy and sell bonds to take advantage of the price movements, you can even swing trade them. But this is a very risky business if you don’t know what you are doing, you will need to take a swing trading course if this was something that wanted to, but again most people just buy and hold.

Making Money With Forex Trading

Everyone who want to make profit from currency trading, will need some solid forex strategies. Fx trading is similar to anything else in life. If traders wants to do it profitable, you require proper training and proper practice. And if you are planning to get into currency trading you better do it good or else you may possibly lose your hard earned cash.

If you search on google you can notice that there are tons of software tools which claim to make you massive profits. If you are a new trader I want to advise you that these applications are not money making machines. This doesn’t mean that all those auto pilot robots are fake or scam. There are good programs like FAP Turbo RObot and few others. The newly released Ivy robot also looks promising. You can see the Ivybot Robot details here. Yet these trading robots can not replace the traders skill and knowledge.

Obtaining hands-on experience is simple since mostly all Fx brokerage firms will let you practice on a demo account for free. In fact they promote it, because they are hoping that once you are making money with your forex demo account you will go forward and invest real money in a real account. Then the broker can profit from the spread or the commission that they charge on your account. Hopefully you will make enough money to pay them and yourself, so everyone is making money.

Developing profitable Fx trading strategies is a tough. There are various currency trading systems out there, but many are very complicated for a new trader. What a new trader need is a system which is very straightforward so that you can begin currency trading with your demo trading account immediately.

A Simple forex trading Strategy
Now let’s take a look at a simple currency trading strategy using what is called support and resistance. You can utilize this technique when you have a condition where the market is going up and down within definite boundaries. So if you observe over a lengthy period it is within an upper position and a lower position.
You can see this on the forex charts which you will be able to access in the demo account provided by your forex broker. Look at the candlestick chart over a large number of time periods. You should be able to identify a time where the forex rates was fluctuating up and down between certain points.

You could plot a line connecting the top points. This line is known as the resistance line and it is usually horizontal. When the rate hits this line it moves down again to keep within the boundaries. Hence at that point you could sell the forex pair. If you are finding it difficult to follow all these things, I recommend you to go to Pip Mavens Inner Circle where Christopher explains everything in detail with examples.

What is Your Trader Type

Did you know that there are 4 mains types of trader and depending on what sort you are will determine many parts of your trading strategy and trading plan. The 4 types are: scalping, day trading, swing trading and position trading. When you determine the type of trader that you are it will also determine the time frame in which you will be making your trade. This will be a very important decision that you need to make when deciding how you want to learn to day trade.

1. Scalping Trader, if you scalp the markets this means that you are only looking for a few ticks profit per trade and you may only be in the trade for a few seconds or a minute at most. trading. Some people will also call this day trading but it’s really micro day trading, buying the bid and selling the offer, it’s high speed trading and you might end up doing 10-50 trades a day. This can be quite a stressful way of trading.

2. Day Trader, the true day trader opens and closes their trade within the same trading session, usually this mean the same day, but unlike a scalper the trade may be held for a few minutes up to several hours. Usually day traders make about 2-5 trades a day and most of them will be in the 5-30 minutes range. This is a less stressful way of trading than scalping but it still requires much attention and quick decision making.

3. Swing Traders, swing trading usually means that a position is held for between 1 to 5-10 days, although some swing traders may keep a trade on for a longer time most are within this time period. For many this is the idea way to trade because it allows you to review your trade overnight, at the very least you have several hours to make your trading decisions.

4. Position Traders, this just means that you are going to hold onto your trade for longer than 5-10 days, maybe even as long as a few months.

If you are still working out how to day trade then it may be better to go with the longer time frames as it gives you more time to think.

Free Currency Trading Tutorial

September 12, 2009 by Ryan · Leave a Comment
Filed under: Forex

There is a big market for currency trading tutorial material. The FX (foreign exchange) trading market is huge, and many experienced traders are now offering training to hopeful beginners or intermediate level traders who want to improve their profits. But can you expect to find good training for free, and if so, what is the best place to go to find it?

There are more and more people pouring into the forex trading sector every day. There is always money to be made and this is certain to attract large numbers. At the same time, the market is not likely to become saturated. There are so many possible trades to make between all the different currencies and banks and private individuals will always need to make Forex exchanges.

So why is the forex market so profitable? The answer is that fluctuations in the exchange rates can be intense and very quick, especially in times when the world economy or the economy of a particular country is unsettled. When a country’s currency is constantly changing in value, a lot of money can be made in a very short time. That is, if you are lucky - or if you know what you are doing.

This means that people are constantly hungry for training materials that will help to give them an edge. They want to discover how to predict the rise and fall of the market. That is how cash is made and it is a skill that can be acquired.

So why would a high earning forex trader want to spill his secrets in a currency trading tutorial?

Skilled, experienced forex traders are used to responding to a market. So when they see a demand for learning their skills, they respond to that market too. Traders want to make money in all possible ways and those ways includes teaching others. Often when a person sets out to teach something, they end up learning new things about the subject themselves. Or sometimes they are tired of just working with numbers all day and want to work with real people for a change!

Nevertheless, a good trader who is giving his time in providing training material will generally expect to get something back. This means that any free forex tutorial, if it is worth investing your time, will have some payback for the trader providing it somewhere down the line. Probably they will send you promotions for other products that they offer. This is not a problem of course, you will not be obligated and you can just ignore these.

This does mean that although the free tutorial may be very useful for you, it will not contain everything that the trader has to teach. He will often be holding back many secrets for his paying members or buyers.

Because of this, free forex tutorials are usually best for beginners. At that level you can learn a lot from a trader just showing you the basics. If you are new to forex it will be much better for you this way and you will be grateful that he does not confuse the issue by throwing in all his advanced strategies into the free currency trading tutorial!
